Battleship USS North Carolina

Preserved as a museum ship in its namesake state, the USS North Carolina is an authentically restored World War II battleship and a National Historic Landmark. It is also a memorial honoring the 11,000 North Carolinians of all branches of service who gave their lives in World War II. Visitors are encouraged to explore nine levels of the ship. Because it receives no funding from any governmental source, the Friends of the Battleship was formed as a non-profit to support the ship and restoration efforts.
