Outlander in the Cape Fear Water Tour
September 3, October 8, November 4

Sail aboard a special river cruise themed to the popular podcast “Burgwin-Wright presents…Outlander in the Cape Fear.” Learn the fascinating history that is essential for understanding the internationally best-selling book and beloved video series. As you cruise up the Northeast Cape Fear River, local historian, historic site Assistant Director and former newspaper reporter Hunter Ingram, creator of the popular podcast will be your guide on an interesting journey taking you back to the river during colonial times.


Oktoberfest Under the Bridge
September 30

Enjoy some of the best traditional Bavarian Oompah style live music from a full-size authentic Oktoberfest Blaskapelle band. Feast from multiple food trucks serving German style fare including brats and schnitzels, homemade Bavarian pretzels. Get dressed up in your finest lederhosen for the “Best Dressed” contest or test your skills with the stein-holding and keg-squatting endurance contests. Join in a chorus of Ein Prosit and be ready to experience Gemutlichkeit!

October 7-8

Celebrate Riverfest featuring the sights and sounds of a traditional street fair with vendors selling art and jewelry, handmade crafts and more, over 30 food vendors, a car show and lots of fun. This year's Riverfest will take place on Front Street ranging from Orange Street to Grace Street. The traditional Saturday night fireworks are scheduled to happen after dark.


Voracious Rare Beer Festival + Lighthouse Beer & Wine Festival
October 27-28

Spend the weekend exploring the world of hops, grapes and grain. For the true beer aficionados, the Voracious Rare Beer Festival is a 'must attend' on Friday evening. Then on Saturday, the Lighthouse Beer & Wine Festival opens with more breweries wielding more delights than you can sample, live music and delicious food, all in one amazing venue. 


GooseBumps in the Grove
October 28-29

Spend a spooky weekend at Poplar Grove's Halloween Festival—fun for both the young and young-at-heart. Featuring tricks and treats for the kids, carnival games and prizes, get ready for fun treats and eeks! Admission includes vintage carnival games, trick or treating with the 75+ vendors, Poplar Grove witches candy chute, Halloween vignette photo ops, Mr. Twister and his fabulous balloon creations, and more.
